Zone 13 Planting Calendar (2026)

Zone 13 is frost-free — build a year-round chart of what to sow, transplant, and harvest each month, then print it.

How to read this calendar

Each crop you select gets a row across all twelve months. SI (light green) means sow indoors — start seeds inside ahead of the season. S (dark green) means sow outdoors, directly in garden soil. T (amber) means transplant your indoor starts into the garden. H marks harvest months. With no frost in Zone 13, the pattern follows heat and rainfall — most temperate crops run through the cooler months, and midsummer favors the heat lovers.

Zone 13 calendar questions

Does Zone 13 really have no frost?

Frost is essentially unknown in Zone 13, so the calendar isn't shaped by freeze dates. Instead, heat and rainfall set the rhythm: the cooler months carry the temperate vegetables, and midsummer belongs to heat lovers.

When should I plant vegetables in Zone 13?

Most familiar vegetables — tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, brassicas — do their best work in Zone 13's cooler window, roughly October through April. The chart above shows the exact months per crop; use midsummer for okra, sweet potatoes, and other tropical growers, or to rest and rebuild beds.

How do I print this planting calendar?

Check off the crops you grow, then hit “Print my calendar.” The print view hides everything except the chart itself, plus a title line — so what comes out of the printer is a clean, one-page Jan–Dec planting chart for your garden.

Why do these months differ from my seed packet?

Seed packets print one generic range for the whole country. This chart is computed for Zone 13 specifically, from its average frost dates — the same engine behind our month-by-month zone guides. When the two disagree, trust the zone-specific timing and confirm against your local forecast.

Will my crop selection be saved?

Yes — your checked crops are stored in your browser automatically (nothing is sent to a server). Come back next month and your calendar is exactly as you left it, on the same device.
